About the Game

Block Burst is a block puzzle game played on a tidy 8×8 grid. You get three shapes at a time, place them wherever they fit, and clear any row or column you fill completely. It's simple enough to learn in ten seconds and deep enough to keep you playing for weeks. It's a free browser game, so you can play online on desktop or mobile with no download.

There's no timer and no pressure to rush. The tension comes from space. Every piece you place takes a little room, and the run ends when the next shape has nowhere to go.

How to Play

Three shapes appear below the board.
Drag each one onto an empty spot on the grid. Shapes can't be rotated.
Fill a full row or column and it clears, freeing up space and scoring points.
Clear several lines with one piece for a combo bonus.
Once all three are placed, you get three new ones.
If none of your remaining shapes fit, the game is over.

Controls (desktop / mobile)

Desktop: click and drag a shape onto the board, then release to drop it.
Mobile: press, drag and lift your finger. The piece floats just above your fingertip so you can see where it lands.

Game Features

Endless mode. Classic play with no finish line. Chase your best score.
30 adventure levels. Each level has a goal, such as clearing set blocks or reaching a target score, with preset boards to work around.
Combos and streaks. Clearing lines on back-to-back turns builds a streak and multiplies your points.
Second life. When the board locks up, you can clear some space and keep your run alive.
New pieces. Swap your current three shapes for a fresh set when nothing fits well.

Tips & Tricks

Always keep room for a 3×3 square. The big square is the hardest piece to place. If there's no open 3×3 area, you're one bad draw from game over.
Place all three in your head first. Before dropping the first shape, check that the other two still fit afterward.
Work the edges. Build along the sides and corners, and keep the center open as long as you can.
Set up double clears. Leaving one row and one column almost full lets a single piece clear both.
Save your second life. It's worth more on a high-scoring run than on an early mistake.
