About the Game

Screw Puzzle: Nuts & Bolts is a screw puzzle game about taking things apart in the right order. A stack of wooden and metal boards is pinned together with colored screws. Pull the screws out, drop them into boxes of the same color, and the boards lose their grip one by one until they fall away. It's a free browser game you can play online on any device, no download required.

There's something oddly calming about it. The screws twist out with a little spin, the boards swing on their last pin, and then they clatter off the screen. It's a good pick for a short break, though the later levels will make you think harder than you expect.

How to Play

Look at the color boxes at the top. Each box holds a set number of screws of one color.
Tap a screw to unscrew it. If a box of its color has room, it goes straight in.
If no matching box is open, the screw drops into a small tray of spare holes.
When a box fills up, it's swapped for a new one.
Remove enough screws and the boards fall. Clear them all to win the level.

You lose if the tray fills up and you have no legal move left. Screws hidden under other boards can't be touched until the board on top moves or falls.

Controls (desktop / mobile)

Desktop: click a screw to remove it. Click booster icons to use them.
Mobile: tap screws directly. Zooming isn't needed; the boards are scaled to fit your screen.

Game Features

30 levels. Early boards are simple. Later ones stack several layers with screws tucked underneath.
Physics that matter. Boards swing and slide when they lose a screw, which can uncover new ones or block old ones.
Extra tray hole. Adds one more spare spot when your tray is nearly full.
Undo. Puts the last screw back where it was.
Hint. Points to a screw that's safe to remove.
Continue. Keeps the level going after the tray fills instead of starting over.
Level unlocks. From level 4 onward, new stages open as you progress.

Tips & Tricks

Work from the top layer down. Screws on the highest board are usually the ones freeing everything else.
Watch the box colors. Pull screws that match the open boxes first so they don't take up tray space.
Think about the swing. Removing a screw from one side of a board makes it pivot. Sometimes that's exactly what you want, and sometimes it covers a screw you needed.
Keep two tray spots free if you can. A tray with zero room leaves you no way out of a bad box draw.
Use Hint on layered levels. When three boards overlap, it's easy to miss the one screw that unlocks the stack.
